What you need to know to open a bottle of wine?

 In everyday life, we use a bottle opener to open red wine. Bottle opener is a device used to open wine bottles. Beer and wine have special bottle openers, which are made of various materials and shapes. For wine, the most common types of bottle openers are knife openers, plastic openers, T-openers, butterfly openers, pneumatic openers and electric openers.

Knife bottle opener: Bottle opener because of its small and easy to use, has become the "treasure" of wine shop sommeliers. It comes with a zigzag knife to cut open the cap, then rotates the Teflon-coated corkscrew into the cork, pulling it out with the help of a two-pronged lever on the side.

Plastic bottle openers: Bottle openers are cheap, but they also require a lot of effort. To open the bottle, remove the cap from the bottle with a knife. Screw the lower corkscrew into the middle of the cork, and then rotate the middle part of the handle. The cork can be pulled out slowly.

Butterfly bottle opener: Bottle opener is beautiful in appearance, because it is like a butterfly. It is also easy to use, just screw the corkscrew into the cork and then pull the handles on both sides to open the cork.

Pneumatic bottle opener: the principle of the bottle opener is vacuum pressure principle, automatic operation, so more advanced. To open a bottle, insert the needle into the centre of the cork, cover the bottle with a protective plastic sheath, and then move it up and down to inject air into the bottle, creating pressure and pushing the cork out of the bottle.

But in the absence of a bottle opener, there are items in everyday life that can temporarily serve as a bottle opener.

A key,

1. Insert the key into the cork at a 45° Angle (serrated key is preferred for friction);

2. Turn the key slowly to make the cork rise slowly, then remove it by hand.

Two, screws and claw hammer

1. Take a screw (the longer the better, but try not to exceed the length of the cork) and screw it into the cork;

2. After screwing the cork deep enough, pull the screw and the cork out with the "horn" of the hammer.

Three, pump

1. Drill a hole in the cork with a sharp instrument.

2. Plug the air pipe into the hole.

Pump air into the bottle. The increasing pressure will push the cork out.

Four, shoes (should be more thick and flat sole)

1. Turn the bottle upside down with the bottom facing up between your legs.

2. Repeatedly hit the bottom of the bottle with the sole of the shoe;

3. The impact force of the wine will push the cork out slowly. After the cork is pushed out to a certain position, you can pull it out directly with your hand.

If none of these are available, you can also use a slender object, such as chopsticks, to push the cork into the bottle and transfer the liquor as quickly as possible to another container, such as a decanter, to minimize the impact of the cork on the flavor of the wine.

With that in mind, do you know how to open a bottle?

For general still wine, such as dry red, dry white, rose, etc., the steps are as follows:

1. Wipe the bottle clean first, then use the knife on the bottle opener to cut the bottle seal around the bottom of the leak-proof ring (the protruding circular part of the bottle mouth), remember not to turn the bottle.

2. Wipe the top of the bottle clean with a cloth or paper towel, then insert the corkscrew tip vertically into the center of the cork (if the corkscrew is out of alignment, the cork can be easily pulled off), and slowly drill into the cork by turning clockwise.

3. With one end of the bracket supporting the opening of the bottle, pull the other end of the corkscrew and pull out the cork firmly and gently.

4. Stop when you feel the cork coming out. Hold the cork in your hand and gently shake or turn it.

For sparkling wines, such as champagne, the steps are as follows:

1. Hold the bottom of the bottleneck with your left hand, and tilt the bottle outward 15 degrees. Remove the lead seal of the bottle with your right hand, and slowly twist the wire at the lock of the wire mesh.

2. To prevent the cork from bouncing out of the air, cover it with a napkin while holding it down with your hand. Support the bottom of the bottle with your other hand and slowly turn the cork. The bottle can be held a little lower, so it will be stable.

3. If you feel that the cork is about to be pushed to the top of the bottle, just give the cork a slight tilt to create a gap, allowing the carbonate gas in the bottle to be released bit by bit, and then quietly pull the cork out. Don't make too much noise.

With this in mind, you're ready to open a bottle of your favorite red wine.Of course, you can also choose a suitable cup for it.
