The filament drawing process in  glassware products In glassware production, the filament drawing process is a decorative or functional technique that involves thermoplastically stretching glass to form fine filaments or specific textures. This process can be categorised into manual filament drawing and mechanical filament drawing.   When glass reaches its softening temperature (approximately 600 – 900 ° C), it becomes ductile and malleable, allowing this technique to achieve various shapes — particularly suited for custom glass products, such as bespoke stemware.   However, the filament drawing process is an optional technique in glass manufacturing, not an essential step.
